Do I need to remove the GearShade top to put the Hard or Soft top on my vehicle?

No. The GearShade top can be left on at all times. Even with your hard or soft top on, the GearShade pocket top will give you much needed additional storage space.

What shipping service do you use?

All tops are shipped via USPS Priority Mail. The cost is a flat $12.00 for each GearShade top and $4.00 for each additional one.

Can I get a tracking number for my shipment?

Yes, you will get a tracking number when the top ship. Paypal will automatically send it to you.

What percent of sun blocking does your top have?

We have decided to use an 75% sun blockage material for our tops. We feel 75% is more then adequate for actual sun blocking, while increasing the overall amount of air flow through the material, compared to a 90% sun blockage. Basically, the more sun you block … the more air you block as well.

Do you take custom orders for other types of vehicles?

Yes. We need a few things from you to make the top you need. Your best bet is to call us to discuss it.

Do you offer the top in other colors?

To quote Henry Ford “You can get it in any color you want, as long as its black”  🙂

We now offer a variety of colors! When you are selecting your top, click the drop down menu to see all the available colors.

Why do you only offer one type of mesh material?

We want to bring you the best possible type of material. We don’t wont to lose focus of providing the best quality shade top, so at this time we will stay committed to only one type of mesh material.

Will the GearShade keep me dry if it rains?

Unfortunately… no. But if you have your soft top with you, it can easily be put on without removing the GearShade.

Will the GearShade Pocket keep my stuff dry if it rains?

In a light rain – Yes, the pocket if made from Cordura, a Nylon material with a polyurethane backing. But in a total down pour your gear may get wet. The Cordura is water resistant, not water proof.

How does your warranty work?

We offer a 5 year warranty! One year on materials quality and four years on workmanship. You will need to have your receipt in order to make a claim on the warranty. Send us a note on our contact page if you have issues or questions.

Things that are not covered by the warranty:

  • “Acts of god”
  • Theft or Loss
  • Misuse of the product in a fashion other then its design or intention.

GearShade reserves the right to determine weather a warranted claim is to be repaired or replaced. The customer is responsible for sending us the item. We are more then happy to pick up the return shipping.

What is the warranty on printed tops?

We offer the same 5 year warranty on the mesh and workmanship. The printing itself is 3 years.

Printing things that are not covered by the warranty:

  • “Acts of god”
  • Theft or Loss
  • Misuse of the product in a fashion other then its design or intention.

Do you accept returns?

Yes. Our policy is:

  • 1-15 Day returns for undamaged and uninstalled tops.
  • 15-30 Days returns for undamaged and uninstalled tops will require a 20% restocking fee.
  • 1-30 Days for undamaged but installed tops will require a 20% restocking fee.
  • Over 30 days will be a exchange basis only; on the discretion of GearShade.

Absolutely no returns or refunds on ANY printed tops. But if you contact us prior to the actual printing, we can cancel your order if needed.

What does “installed” top mean?  Any top that has been on your vehicle for more then 24 hours.

How is GearShade going to know if I installed my top or not?  We will know 😉
